Linux IDE?

Well, since 2/3 of the current source ports can run on Linux, why not have a Linux server browser?

Skulltag currently has no Linux server browser except for a VERY alpha Java server browser with several bugs. Odamex does have one, but with how complicated it is to set up it's easier to just run IDE in WINE.

With a native IDE for Linux, setup and wad paths would work properly, it would be less crash-prone, and it would make things easier for BOTH ports.

Of course since ZDaemon does not run on Linux without extra software, you would only need Skulltag and Odamex buttons. Maybe no need for an IRC client since zrc is buggy on Linux anyway (unless you added a custom one- would be cool, but unnecessary).

Why would there be a MAC port? The only port of the 3 that run on MAC is Odamex, which has its own browser on MAC.

Stop posting useless crap on every forum you go on. That's why everyone hates you.

IDE runs just perfect under WINE. I used it on MacOS under Crossover and had no problems.
It can run zdaemon and skulltag windows executables, as well as native odamex client.
If you want to run ports with other stuff, you should do:
cd /opt/zdaemon
echo 'cedega [params] zdaemon.exe $1 $2 $3 $4 $5 $6 $7 $8' > customzd.exe
chmod 755 customzd.exe
Than change paths in IDE and that's it.
Which problems can be with wad dirs? Just mount home to d:, root to z: and use windows paths. For Odamex use "Additional Doom Parameters" and add -waddir there.

The way it's meant to be Doomed!
