Doom Explorer needs an update

So it seems now that zandronum.com is forced to https for whateva reason. And now there is talk that Doom Explorer cannot Download and Install the new Binarys because of this change. Simply put, as quoted from Discord...

I'm no expert but.. there should be a way to have Doom Explorer handle HTTPS connections.. or whateva it is to make it possible to where it can download the binarys from an https site. I still use Doom Explorer from time to time so I hope this gets updated soon...

So.. any Progress on this yet? I been seeing some Demand for such a thing. Seems people are hellbent on using DoomExplorer. Either that or just don't know about these forums.

No problem. I heard it was "pissing everyone off" that Doom Explorer kept failing to download the Beta. There is the way to download the beta and such from the website but eh. Anyhow thanks for that. Keep it up.

Just a little note, Zandronum clusters using the latest build r3.0-170901-1140 (final, according to the site) try to connect with version 2.1.2 instead.

Also, thanks very much for adding overlayed IRC! This is a huge thing for me, I really appreciate it biggrin

because these servers aren't marked as 'testing', so DoomExplorer starts standard Zandronum for them

Bump. Many download sites are using https instead of http but they wont load in Doom Explorer's get server url 'w' hotkey or Getwad

Are the Fathax wadhost sites still legitimate? These sites are still default for the GetWADer, However while the addresses are still active they redirect to some dubious sites, A quick googling seems to show the redirected sites might have malicious origin.

list of getwad search servers is maintaned by zdaemon master server (Kilgore) - probably he should correct it
but anyway getwad doesnt load and execute any scripts from search server - just look for proper link to wad, so dont worry
